Bratislava, 11 October 2012 - The Slovak Red Cross prepared for the autumn its nationwide campaign to attract student blood donors called "Student Blood Drop". Its 18th edition has begun on 15th October 2012 and will last five weeks - until 16 November 2012.
The motto of this year's Student blood collection is "Give them a helping hand". Young Slovak actors Dominika Zelenikovo and James Lorencovič are the public faces of this campaign, which has kicked off on campus Stur in Mill Valley.
Blood samples as well as other related events, such as recruitment workshops and simulated blood sampling will be conducted in all major cities, but also in many villages in Slovakia.
Student drop of blood is the second largest campaign organized by the Slovak Red Cross, in cooperation with the National Transfusion Service SR and transfusion departments of hospitals. It has a nationwide scope and reaches schools, but also companies and organizations. It aims to attract young people especially, to donate blood regularly, ensuring enough blood for its health system.
